The bagpipe belongs to a large family of wind instruments found all over the world, and in Scotland alone there are three types: the traditional Border pipe, the Small pipe and the Great Highland Bagpipe. In theory, the principle is simple: the bag must be inflated. And while you play the notes, you send air by squeezing the bag with your arm. If everything is coordinated, your bagpipe produces a nice, powerful sound. This is where the difficulties begin. Before you even hope to let a note out, you must have enough breath to keep the bag inflated. I tried, I did not succeed. As for the Scotch Whisky that needs time to assert itself, it’s patience that will make me progress!
